Will Ferrell dead after a two-car crash is a celebrity death hoax. There is no truth to a report that the comedian and actor died from injuries suffered from a real-life automobile accident. Rather, a fake news site peddled the false claim. Ferrell is fine and recovering after the accident.

Where did this death hoax originate? The website breaking-cnn.com published the celebrity death hoax on April 15, 2018, falsely reporting that Ferrell died following a two-car crash. You can read the death hoax below.

Actor and comedian Will Ferrell has died in the wee hours of Saturday morning few hours after being hospitalized.

Ferrell was rushed to the hospital Thursday night after he was involved in a serious two-car crash in southern California.

The crash happened on Interstate 5 and caused the SUV that Ferrell was riding in to flip over, TMZ reported. Ferrell was one of three passengers in the SUV, and all were taken to a hospital, according to the celebrity news site. One of the two remaining injured passengers is reported to be in a critical condition.

It was unclear what caused the crash. The California Highway Patrol did not immediately respond to requests Friday for more information.

However, there is no truth to the above report that Ferrell died. Rather, Ferrell was unhurt in a car accident on April 12, 2018, in California that left two others injured.

“While traveling back to Los Angeles after hosting a voter registration event in San Diego, a car carrying Will Ferrell and three of his colleagues was struck on the freeway by another vehicle,” read a statement Ferrell’s representatives from United Talent Agency. Ferrell’s longtime driver, Mark Thompson, and his another passenger, identified as Carolina Barlow, remain hospitalized in stable condition.

The “Saturday Night Live” alum was a passenger in a limousine SUV with three others on Interstate 5 in Orange County when a 2007 Toyota veered into his lane and struck the right side of the vehicle, according to a California Highway Patrol accident report. That collision then caused the 2017 Lincoln SUV to hit a center divider and overturn and land on its left side.

Here are some reactions on social media to the news of Ferrell’s involvement in the car crash.
